Loud Silence - (Poem by Simon Njoroge)

Loud Silence

When things got so sullen
My presence became a burden
For when I called on you
Was greeted by an empty view
I was always stuck on the dial
But the connection would always fail
I begged for your precious presence
In my sincere innocence
But finally regretfully understood
I couldn’t tamper with the misty mood
Though with you I was jolly
All I can silently say is sorry
‘cause of how painfully sudden
I have become a heavy burden.
